Racism is on the increase in Northern Ireland – Last year there were nearly 1,000 incidents and this is expected to increase. This is only the tip of the iceberg – many will not report incidents to the police for fear of reprisal and further victimisation and do not believe justice will be done.

It is imperative that the First and Deputy First Ministers show leadership and take action by publishing the draft Cohesion, Sharing and Integration Strategy immediately to show the entire community that they are serious about addressing these issues and providing the strategies needed to deal with these types of incidents.
